Twisted Kate

I’ve had these photos preciously saved in a file on my desktop since last month—the deliciously twisted, yet very chic spread of Kate Moss shot by Steven Klein for the March issue of W magazine. I can’t say enough about the styling and artistic direction of this shoot—the depth of details, the richness of the layering of dark textures and props—the clothes! If one can call them clothes. Perhaps costumes is a better description…but I have been thinking just how I could fit any one of these pieces into my daily wardrobe.

Have a look at how perfectly portrayed the feeling is of a woman in a purgatory state of darkness…switching back and forth between heaven and hell…but dangerously closer to the latter…

Call of the Wild

I’ve been out of NYC and traveling overseas for over a week now, and I have to say, I do feel different. I am working on this trip, but feel so much more relaxed and more like myself than back home. Strange feeling that I have to leave my home turf to feel like ME again! Wanna transport this vibe and keep it with me for when I return. New York is known to beat you down, sad but true. Anyway, this post is inspired by nature, getting back to your core, feeling good emotions other than STRESS for once!! I love the illustrations of Abbey Watkins of tobaccoandleather.com. They remind me of the spirituality inside of all of us, and setting yourself free of the burdens and pressures we put upon ourselves…
